Social media is constantly changing and becoming something different than it was yesterday. Even on a single platform such as Twitter or Facebook, the changes come so fast that it’s hard to really know what’s going to happen tomorrow. However, there are some things you can do that get you an exceptional bang for your buck, and even if Facebook changes tomorrow, you should still be able to use these techniques. Here are a pair of tips you can use to your advantage today and hopefully tomorrow, too.

Take Advantage of Your Front Page Tabs

Underneath your timeline photo and the name of your company lies something called “tabs”. They’re typically little boxes that contain information and pictures, but what they have in them ultimately is completely up to you. You can have up to twelve tabs filled in, and four of them are displayed at any given time.

You can even create custom images for all of these tabs now that Facebook has changed how they work, and you can choose the tabs that are in your top four. So if you want to have a “donate now” tab that has your logo on it, you can. You should have four very valuable tabs up and they should represent what you have to offer the world.

Use Facebook’s Scheduling Feature

You can set posts to schedule in the future on Facebook now. This feature took so long to appear on Facebook that there are tons of third-party applications that do the same thing. However, Facebook tends to favor posts and statuses posted directly to Facebook. It’s likely you’ll see more engagement with your posts if you use Facebook features. It’s pretty simple. Just click the clock on your post before you put anything in the status box and choose when and at what time you’d like your post to appear.
